Jorge Montenegro  This year Jorge Montenegro presented a paper at the 33rd Annual Midwest Conference on Andean and Amazonian Archaeology and Ethnohistory,
 held at the
University of Missouri, Columbia (MO).  His paper title was Prehispanic Human Settlement and Interregional Interaction on the Upper Piura Valley,
Far
North Coast of Peru. Also, last Summer he spent almost two months doing lab work for his dissertation research, at Peru’s Instituto Nacional de Cultura (INC)
(National Institute of Culture) facilities in
Piura City, Far North coast of Peru.  In addition he received a Sigma Xi Grant-In-Aid of Research (Grant # G200539233311144)
award that will defray
carbon fourteen dating costs of archaeological samples.  Finally, he currently continues data analysis and dissertation writing, as well as performing
Teaching Assistant duties for the ANTH 104 class.
