| Tamira Brennan (MA, archaeology) is a
second year Master’s student at SIUC studying complex chiefdoms in the
southeastern US. This past summer, she
worked with the SIUC field school, supervising and excavating at the
Kincaid
site, a large Mississippian mound center near the Illinois/Kentucky
border. She is currently investigating
architectural variation at this site, primarily utilizing field data
collected
by the University of Chicago in the 1930’s and 40’s, supplemented by
more
recent excavations. In November she will
be presenting a paper on this topic during a symposium at the
Southeastern
Archaeological Conference in |
