Cummins Engine Company Supports AutoTech Program

On October 20th and 21st, Lon Gersten, Service Engineer (1997 Automotive graduate) and Tereza Roney, Rapidserve Engineer (2004 Automotive graduate) with Cummins Engine Company, Inc., visited the Carterville campus and conducted two training seminars on “Cummins Common Rail Diesel Technology” for the students and staff of the department. Both training sessions were well attended and received. The value of this type of corporate support for the department and university is indispensable.

On October 22nd, Cummins Engine Company helped sponsor an Automotive Technology Organization (a university registered student organization) evening at the races gathering for students, faculty, alumni, and friends. The financial support from Cummins Engine Company to the Automotive Technology Organization helped the students continue their worthy activities in presenting the department’s race car at various races throughout the year in recruitment and promotion activities.
