Mortuary Science and Funeral Service Faculty Member Invited to National Conference
 
 

Thomas Shaw, Associate Professor in Mortuary Science and Funeral Service (MSFS), was invited to attend the National Funeral Directors Association 2004 Future Forum: Workforce Issues. Participation in this event is limited and by invitation only. Professor Shaw is a doctoral candidate; his dissertation topics are work values and work environment of funeral directors. He was a co-author, with Dr. Duys, Department of Educational Psychology, of “Work Values for Mortuary Science Students” in the Journal of Career Development Quarterly. He and Assistant Professor Anthony Fleege, another MSFS faculty member, each had individual articles in the Director, a nationally circulated publication. In addition, Professor Shaw had an individual article regarding work values and an article with Assistant Professors Fleege and Debeljuk, measuring saturation levels with embalming procedures, which were published in the Journal of Funeral Service Education.
