My research focuses on language use and how speakers/authors use language to (re)create social space for themselves.  My specific research currently focuses on Ancient Greek poetic texts, but it is applicable across a much wider range of literature.  Secondarily I am interested in how literature fits within the wider sphere of language use, and in issues of language change.
