Welcome

This site has been created as part of an initiative to promote urban and community forestry in the southern 36 counties (all counties adjacent to and south of the I-70 corridor).  You will find general information about our goals and objectives, lists of resources, links to additional sites of related content, a photo gallery geared toward the community forest resource managers, strategies for obtaining outside funding, and a bibliography of pertinent literature.  You will also find an educational tool referred to as Webquest.  This exercise will allow you to understand the economic benefits of having an active community forestry management program in your community.

NEW  The Prairie Tree Companion is now available online through this site. Simply click on the above hyperlink or go to the "Urban Forestry Resources Page" and follow the link at the bottom of the page for the latest issues of this wonderful Urban & Community Forestry Resource.

Now Available Online!  You can download this resource as a pdf file. Just click on the picture above or follow this link to the Forestry Principles guide for Small Communities in Illinois.
