Phi Alpha Theta is a national honors society specifically for history students. The Sigma Kappa Chapter located at SIUC has a membership of over 50 undergraduate and graduate students. |

The annual, regional and state Illinois History Fairs provide an opportunity for students in grades 6 through 12 to showcase projects in several areas from written work, to visual displays, to theatrical-style performances. The Southern Regional is the largest fair in the state, with seven hundred students participating each year. |

The Papers of Ulysses S. Grant include chronological coverage of Grant documents, incorporating letters received by Grant with his own writings. Grant's presidential papers illuminate issues of politics, Reconstruction, frontier and military history, race relations, foreign policy, economic development, and nineteenth century culture. The Grant Association also plans a comprehensive Grant bibliography and the first scholarly edition of the Personal Memoirs of U. S. Grant. |
