Linguistics Student Association
The Linguistics Student Association's (LSA), in the Department of Linguistics at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, mission is twofold. The first is to further the interest in the study of linguistics. The second is to promote the interests of the graduate and undergraduate students in the Department of Linguistics. All students in the Department of Linguistics are invited to be members of the LSA. In addition, the LSA serves as a representative of all students in the department, whether they are active with the LSA or not.
The LSA offers departmental students numerous opportunities for leadership positions including: President, Vice-president, Secretary, Treasurer, Social Chair, Fund-raising Chair, Webmaster, Executive Committee Representative, Linguistics Curriculum Committee Representative, CESL Curriculum Committee Representative, Graduate and Professional Student Council Representative, International Student Council Representative, and Lecture Series Chair.
