Office of Military Programs

The Office of Military Programs (OMP) for Southern Illinois University at Carbondale (SIUC) is responsible for two areas: external agency matters and for coordinating administrative matters which are common to the SIUC academic units that conduct military and off-campus programs.

The Director of Military Programs (DMP) wears many hats related to these two basic functions. The DMP also serves as liaison with external agencies outside the state of Illinois in regard to non-military programs and as a resource person for the Office of the Associate Vice Provost for Academic Administration. The Director of Military Programs is the principal point of contact for and represents the University in matters pertaining to educational programs at Military bases. Programmatic responsibility for the military programs of each college is the concern of individuals appointed by each Dean. Their names appear with the respective colleges.

The OMP Assistant Director (ADMP) assists the DMP in the implementation of policies and procedures to accomplish the purpose of the Office of Military Programs in all matters and acts for the DMP in the Director's absence.
