Johnson Shut-Ins State Park

This Labor day the outdoor club went to Johnson Shut-In State Park for the second straight year.  The Shut-Ins are where water has eroded the surronding rock creating its own path way over millions of years.   There is about a half mile section where the water has made a natural water park.   There are water falls, caves underneath the rocks, and various hieghts of cliffs which you can dive off of.  Also at the Shut-Ins is the Ozark trail.  The Ozark trail is 1000 miles which goes from Missouri to Arkansas.
Johnson Shut-Ins is located in Lesterville, Mo, about 100 miles from Carbondale.

After hundreds of millions of years the water creates a path through the rock.

To the left are the club cliff divers.   The highest cliff is about 50 feet high.  The three divers are Mike, Gabe, and Ian, respectively.
