Outstanding Scholars
Outstanding Scholar awards are part of the University's Excellence Through Commitment Awards Program (see overall guidelines).
SIUC Outstanding Scholars (University-Level)
Southern Illinois University Carbondale instituted the University-Level Outstanding Scholar Award in 1985 to recognize exceptional achievement in research, scholarship, and creative activity. Awardees carry the title of Distinguished Scholar. This award is coordinated by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Dean, which solicits nominations each fall semester.
Nominations for the 2009 award were due on Monday, October 6, 2008. Relevant supporting documentation must be forwarded by Monday, October 27, 2008. See the Outstanding Scholar Award guidelines.
