"Smiley Saurus Goes to the Doctor" is a priming video designed to show children with autism some of the routines for visiting medical practitioners. This DVD presents a typically developing child undergoing a basic physical examination. Viewers will see the model exhibit skills for a successful examination, such as:

• Waiting in the waiting room
• Walking to the examination room
• Sitting on the examination table
• Tolerating the stethoscope applied to the body
• Tolerating manual examination of the body
• Tolerating the otoscope for examining the ears, nose, and throat

A dinosaur puppet narrates the video and presents potentially aversive medical stimuli (e.g., stethoscope, otoscope) in a fun way that appeals to children. This priming DVD is a must-have component to any program aimed at teaching children with autism to tolerate physical exams.

"Increasing Medical Compliance for Children with Autism: A Desensitization Package " is designed to complement the related training manual. This DVD will show parents and professionals how to use a multi-component desensitization package for training children with autism to tolerate a medical examination.
