Certification and Licensure

At the national level, the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC) is a non-profit, independent, credentialing body which certifies Rehabilitation Counselors. Graduates of our Rehabilitation Counselor Training Program are automatically qualified to sit for the national certifying exam and, upon passing it, obtain the credential of Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC). Rehabilitation Counselors who have obtained the CRC are eligible for licensure as professional counselors in many states, including Illinois. Individuals completing the Substance Abuse Specialization are also eligible for certification as Addictions Counselors in the State of Illinois.
