Rural Development Opportunities (RDO) is a research and outreach program with the objective of identifying rural development opportunities in Illinois.  RDO constitutes a concerted effort by the Rural Economic Development Research Unit at Southern Illinois University to deliver outcomes relevant to the needs identified by the Council on Food and Agricultural Research (C-FAR).  The research program is funded through the Council's Rural Community Development Strategic Research Initiative entitled "Illinois Farming Alternatives and Rural Revitalization Methods (I-FARRM)."
