Kaleidoscope:  a graduate journal of qualitative communication research

Call For Manuscripts

The next submission period is:
December 1, 2008 - March 1, 2009

Kaleidoscope is a refereed, annually published print and electronic graduate student journal devoted to communication reasearch at the intersections of critical/ theoretical/ cultural/ and/or praxical inquiry. We especially encourage contributions that are both innovative and rigorous in their approach, and that expand understanding of a diverse range of communication phenomena.

The kind of exposure Kaleidoscope offers to graduate students is both an educational and a professional asset during a time when some of the most promising new disciplinary research is done in areas that focus on qualitative communicative research. Because its attention is devoted to current graduate students’ development of critical/ theoretical/ cultural/ and/or praxical work, and is a collaborative review endeavor of faculty and graduate students, Kaleidoscope offers a perspective that is unique among disciplinary journals

We welcome manuscripts, during the submission period, from graduate students working in Communication and cognate areas/disciplines who are enrolled at the time of submission. Each manuscript submitted to Kaleidoscope will receive a blind assessment by two outside reviewers, (1) a faculty reviewer and (2) an advanced Ph.D. student.

Submission: Please submit 3 copies of your manuscripts to: Kaleidoscope, Department of Speech Communication, Mailcode 6605, Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, Carbondale, IL 62901.
Manuscripts submitted to Kaleidoscope must not be under review elsewhere or have appeared in any other published form. Although there is no minimum page limit, manuscripts should be no longer than 25 pages (double-spaced) or 7,000 words (including notes and references) and can be prepared following MLA, APA, or Chicago style.
