The Sociology Club offers students the opportunity beyond classroom study. Members can engage in activities that include service projects, social events, field trips, and guest speakers. The Sociology Club also conducts fundraising projects. Some of these funds can enable the Club to send students to several conventions. These conventions provide opportunities to attend paper presentations sessions on many topics and to meet sociology faculty and students from throughout the Nation. Sociology Club members are encouraged to present their own papers in competitive and non-competitive student paper sessions at these conventions. The American Sociological Association has membership benefits for university sociology students, and majors should consider pursuing membership.
