Meeting Schedule |
| As a reminder, the club always meets on the first and third Monday of the month during the school
year. The next meeting will focus on final prep for the
upcoming indoor tri, which primarily involves stuffing race packets.
As always, the meeting will be in the
observation area above the pool on the second floor of the rec center.
We start the meeting at 5:00pm. If you are new to SIUC or have interest
in the club, please feel free to come on by and we will tell you what
we are all about.

Biggest
news: We will now be meeting on the FIRST and THIRD Mondays of the
month.
NEXT MEETING: Monday, February 05, 2007 at 7:00 pm. If we are not at
the usual spot in front of the pool window, check the Alumni Lounge.
Topics discussed:
Pay your dues ($20) if you have not done so already. You only need to
pay once/academic year. River to River Relay payment is due
to Craig ASAP. The $20 payment is a security deposit for your position
of the relay team. Talk to Craig or Cay for details.
Health & Nutrition Fair at Student Rec Center, Feb. 05, 2007,
5:00-7:00 pm.
Check out our updated Web site: http://www.siu.edu/~triclub/ -- Thanks,

Rec Your Body Info:
Date set: Sunday, February 25, 2007
We need door prizes for the Rec Your Body indoor tri. See Cay about
businesses that have already been contacted, or to obtain a copy of the
request/thank you letter. This is the 10th annual Rec Your
Body; the bikes are old and worn. Carbondale Cycle is
donating some bike computers and we are purchasing some more. We will
reuse them each year for the indoor tri. We need volunteers
for this event! Ask your friends and s.o.’s to help.
Volunteers will be needed from about 8:15 am until 1:00 pm.
We will need tri team members to help stuff packets a night
or two before the event. E-mail Cay to volunteer or for more
details. J

season warning to
trail runners:
Please be extra careful during the weekends before and after
Thanksgiving.
Ashley is now president.
Items Discussed:
10th
annual Rec Your Body (2007).
It
will probably be held the last Saturday in February or the first
Saturday in
March, as per the
tradition. Cay
was assigned to secure a date. We discussed needing more sponsors.
Sponsors who
donate $100 or more get their name
on the t-shirt. Matt suggested we try to solicit the Alumni
Association. We need at least 30 volunteers
for this
event!!! If we don’t secure a volunteer corps, we,
the members, can’t
participate in the event. Darin suggested using other RSO’s,
specifically the cycling
club, to help us as we have helped them previously.
