Students are responsible for both housing and transportation to supervised practice experience locations. Housing costs range from $250 to $450 per month depending upon location and if accommodations are shared. During supervised practice rotations, students should anticipate relocating at least once. All expenses and arrangements for housing are responsibility of the student. Expenses for travel and relocating will vary by student. Car travel costs about 35 cents per mile. Expenses involved with relocating may include travel, long distance phone calls, deposits, and storage fees. Please, review the mileage to each practice site outlined in Variety of Experiences to comprehend the need to relocate or the distance of a commute.

Students pay all expenses, including tuition and fees during supervised practice rotations.

During supervised practice rotations, professional dress is required. In some instances, a student may need to purchase a lab coat.
All students are expected to own their own computers before starting supervised practice experiences. A laptop computer should be used during supervised experiences at the Illinois Department of Human Services. Technology is an important part of any professional career and access to a computer is essential for gaining and maintaining computer skills.
General liability and professional liability insurance is provided by the University when the student is enrolled.
