Dr. Flowers's photographCarl R. Flowers is an Associate Professor and Coordinator of the Rehabilitation Administration and Services (RA&S) program in the Rehabilitation Institute (RI). Prior to joining the RI faculty, he was Director of the Region X Rehabilitation Continuing Education Program (RCEP) at Western Washington University, in Seattle, WA and Program Manager with the Region V RCEP at SIUC. Dr. Flowers earned his Rh.D. in Rehabilitation from SIUC in 1993, is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), and was named a Switzer Scholar in 2001. Dr. Flowers is past President and Board Chair of the National Association of Multicultural Rehabilitation Concerns (NAMRC) and has widely published on multicultural competency and equity issues in the public rehabilitation service delivery program. His current research interests include leadership, staff and organizational development, ethics, and multicultural issues in rehabilitation education and program service delivery.
