Dr.Riggar's pictureDr. Riggar is a Professor in the Rehabilitation Administration and Services Program. He earned a doctorate in Education-Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado in 1977. He has been a member of dozens of national organization committees and has worked as a consultant to a variety of rehabilitation facilities, organizations or agencies; and has served on the board of directors of several. Dr. Riggar authored or co-authored 15 books. Most recently they include: Handbook of Rehabilitation Counseling. (2004). Springer Pub.; Staffing for Success: A Guide for Health and Human Service Professionals. (1992). Sage Pub.; Utilizing Community Resources: An Overview of Human Services. (1996). St.Lucie Press; Persist and Publish: Hints for Academic Writing and Publishing. (1991). Univ. Press of Colorado. Ted has also published 80+ professional articles, and 15+ monographs. He has served on the EAB of 11 professional rehabilitation journals: RL, JARC, RE, VEWA Bulletin, JRA, Rehab Psych, RCB, JJP, JR and JCD. For his work he has received 16 awards. Most recently, these include: Special Contributions (NCRE, 2004), Advancement Award (NRCA, 2002), Certificate of Appreciation (NRCA/ARCA, 1999), Exemplary Service Award (NRCA, 1993), Jerome R. Lorenz Research Award (NRAA, 1991), Elected Fellow-NRCA (1990), Certificate of Appreciation (Black Graduate Rehab Student Assoc, 1989), Teacher of the Year (College, 1988), Presidential Citation-Distinguished Contribution (NRCA, 1987), Dean’s Excellence in Research Award (College, 1986).
