Intergenerational Efforts Highlighted in State Gathering

Students, older folks, and all ages between met on Friday, March 11 for the Fourth Statewide Gathering of the Illinois Intergenerational Initiative. An aura of harmony was set by Rosalee Robinson, a retired Chicago volunteer mentor from the Mary McDowell Settlement, and two University High School students, Melissa Schoeplein and Laura Glasser. Their intergenerational dialogue highlighted the importance of service and learning in their lives. Rosalee Robinson enchanted her younger co-presenters and the audience, with her positive view of aging. Laura and Melissa gave testimony about their involvement with older adults and how these experiences profoundly influence them. Mary Lubertozzi, Reg
