Graduate Assistantship Stipends - FY2010

NOTE: THE FIGURES GIVEN BELOW ARE FOR PROPOSAL BUDGETING AND PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY. DEPARTMENTS SHOULD NOT USE THESE FIGURES FOR GA CONTRACTS UNTIL NOTIFIED BY THE GRADUATE SCHOOL ASSISTANTSHIP OFFICE IN FY2010 THAT THEY ARE AUTHORIZED TO DO SO.

Stipend rates for FY2010 (July 1, 2009 - June 30, 2010) are listed below. A graduate assistant supported by an external grant is paid the rate of the unit of the principal investigator. Units without established rates pay the rate of the unit in which the student is enrolled.

The standard GA assistantship is one-half time (50%). Proposal budget spreadsheets should be set up to use the full-time (100%) rate at 0.5 effort.

Principal investigators will also need to budget in 50% of the Primary Care Fee for each semester the GA will be employed in FY2010. By our best estimate, the relevant budget figures for proposals will be about $91 for fall semester 2009, $91 for spring semester 2010, and $63 for summer semester 2010.

Postdoctoral fellows: The minimum stipend for postdocs is the 100% doctoral rate for graduate assistants in the same department or college.
