Provides training, technical service and research in scanning electron,
transmission electron, atomic-force, and light microscopy. Advanced
capabilities include X-ray analysis, image analysis, and viewing of
specimens under near-atmospheric conditions. IMAGE also administers
an electronics repair shop (Neckers 115) and a research
photography and illustration facility (476 Life Science II),
which offers consultation and technical assistance to researchers who
need photos or computer-graphics illustration for journal publications,
grant proposals and reports, books, conference presentations or poster
sessions, and other research endeavors.

maintained under the direction of a veterinarian with specialty training
in laboratory animal medicine to ensure proper and humane care and management
of animals and compliance with federal regulations. Purchase requests
for laboratory animals must originate with the Laboratory Animal Program.
Clearance requires prior institutional review and approval of an Animal
Use Protocol.

and a number of GC-Ion Trap Detector Mass Spectrometers. Elemental
analysis using inductively coupled plasma atomic emission (ICP-AES)
