Joining
You're probably asking yourself, "Why should I join the ACM here at SIU-C"? Well, there are lots of reasons!
- It's an RSO and it looks good on your resume.
- There are opportunities for leadership.
- The ACM provides a great place to find connections for a job.
- Groups within ACM specialize in C++, HTML, etc., so you might be able to learn a little, or put some of your computing skills to use.
- You can meet new people with interests in computing similar to your own.
- It's fun. It's cheap. Membership to the local chapter is only $5.00.
- Please visit :http://www.acm.org/membership/student/studentjoinpage1218.html for more information.
If you've read this far, we've probably convinced you to join. Here's what you'll need to do next (Don't worry, it'll be easy)
- Start by getting a membership form. You can either grab one from the CS department bulletin board in Faner Hall or download it here. Our officers may, from time to time, have extra forms with them during meetings.
- Fill out the form whenever you have the time.
- When you have completed the form, just submit it with the $5 fee (good for one year's membership) to the Membership Officer. You may also place it in the ACM mailbox, which is located in the Computer Science office; Faner Hall, Room 2125.
- That's it. You're a member. (And you didn't believe me when I said it was easy.)
