The most basic response to the earth's environment has
been the development of methods that increase the
probability of survival. The creation of shelter -- by
which the impact of climate and the changing seasons
could be controlled -- is one of man's responses. From
this basic reaction to a need, architecture has evolved
to reflect and promote the cultural, political, economic,
religious, and philosophical trends of our societies.
The Bachelor of Science degree program in architectural studies
from the College of Applied Sciences and Arts provides a wide range of career opportunities. Upon completion
of the degree program, the graduate is qualified to enter
the mainstream of the architecture profession or an
allied field.
