Directions
From I-57...
From Interstate 57, use exit 54B. This exit is the Illinois Highway 13 exit that will you send you to the west from Marion, Illinois. Carbondale is located about 14 miles west of Marion, Illinois on Highway 13.
Once in Carbondale, Highway 13 becomes Main Street. You will pass Wal-Mart Supercenter, University Mall, and K-Mart as you come into town. Keep going west, staying in the center or left lane. Main Street divides into a one-way street with all lanes going to the west just past the mall. You will need to make a left turn at University Avenue. This is the 8th stoplight from the very first Carbondale stoplight you will pass -- the one at Giant City Road by the Wal-Mart Supercenter.

US Highway 51 Southbound becomes University Avenue once in Carbondale. Proceed to the section entitled From University Avenue below ...
From Illinois 127...
Illinois 127 passes through nearby Murphysboro, Illinois. Carbondale is about 5 miles east of Murphysboro on Illinois 13. Take Illinois 13 to the east. This will be a left turn if you were Southbound on 127, a right turn in you were Northbound. When you arrive in Carbondale, Illinois 13 becomes Main Street until you pass the Murdale Shopping Center. Here, Illinois 13 splits into two one-way streets -- 13 Eastbound traffic flows onto Walnut Street. Stay on Walnut until you come to University Avenue. From University Avenue...
Go south on University Avenue (also known as US Route 51). If you were on Illinois 13 westbound (Main Street), you will pass through a stoplight at Walnut Street. Go straight at this stoplight. If you were on Illinois 13 eastbound (Walnut Street), you will turn onto University Avenue (US 51) as described above.
Go straight at the College Street stoplight, but be ready to make a right turn. At the first location past College Street where the road allows you to go to the right, do. This is called the "Island." At the stop sign with the intersection of Mill Street, go straight through the intersection.
Visitor (metered) parking is available in the lot located just north of Woody Hall. The lot is marked on the map with an asterisk, and will be to the right as you approach Woody. There is a turn-around at the end of the street in case you miss the entrance to the visitor parking lot. Do not park in the slots on the left of the lot -- these are slots marked with a blue rectangle. These slots are for SIUC staff vehicles displaying a blue parking decal. Use only the metered slots on the right side of the lot. The meters only take quarters and each quarter buys one hour of parking.
Quigley Hall is directly across Normal Avenue from Woody. There are two crosswalks, one at the parking lot's south end and the other at the Woody main entrance. The west entrance to Quigley is located at the crosswalk by the Woody main entrance. School offices are located on the fourth floor of Quigley Hall. The elevator will only take you to the fourth floor during business hours. The reception area is to the right as you exit the elevator or to the left as you exit the stairs.
