Organizations
While attending SIUC, students have the opportunity to be members of profession-related student organizations. Participation allows for increased interaction with practicing professionals through guest lectures, office and project tours, and portfolio and resume reviews. Currently, active student organizations at the Carbondale campus include:
- American Society of Interior Designers
- Illuminating Engineers Society
- American Institute of Architecture Students
- Construction Specifications Institute
- Precast Concrete Institute Student Chapter
These organizations provide students the opportunity to pursue leadership roles, develop contacts with the profession and take advantage of various activities which include field trips, guest speakers and workshops.
