Health Care Management
Marine Corps Base
Camp Lejeune, NC
Program Advisor: Jo Wills

Welcome to Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune/Jacksonville, North Carolina. We offer the Bachelor of Science degree in Health Care Management. Students have been instructed where and how to order the textbook for your class.

PLEASE FORWARD YOUR SYLLABUS, ELECTRONICALLY, TO DR. JUDY RAWLS/OCAP FOR EVALUATION AT LEAST EIGHT (8) WEEKS PRIOR TO CLASS BEGINNING DATE! I WILL NEED AN ELECTRONIC COPY ONCE DR. RAWLS HAS REVIEWED YOUR SYLLABUS.

Also, please make sure your electronic communications are compatible with WORD 6.0.

IF YOU PLAN TO USE UPS FOR FORWARDING SYLLABI, MATERIALS TO THIS LOCATION, THE UPS ADDRESS IS: The John A. Lejeune Education Center, LLLN, SIUC, BLDG. 825, Room 117, MCB, Camp Lejeune, N. C. 28542.

The classroom is located in The John A. Lejeune Education Center/building 825. Your assigned classroom number will be left in your weekend package at the Hampton Inn, along with the attendance rosters.

The building keys will be left at the hotel desk for you all three weekends in a manila envelope along with the attendance rosters.

Classroom regulations prohibit the students from using any tobacco products. Eating in the classrooms is also prohibited; however there is a snack area in the Education Center that you may utilize during the day.

THERE ARE NO PROVISIONS FOR USE OF A COPIER. SIUC has a copier at the SIUC office; however the office is not open on the weekends. All instructors are responsible for copying course materials prior to class.

Students have been advised that the conditions of the classroom are their responsibility; however they do need to be reminded from time to time and also that trash should be removed on Sunday afternoon. I have a student liaison however that will assist you in making sure this is done.

SIUC at Camp Lejeune provides the following audio visual aids: overhead projector, VCR/TV, DVD and an overhead system which may work with a TA, VCR or Laptop computer.

Your motel reservations will be made at the Hampton Inn, located on Western Blvd. Jacksonville, N.C. (phone #910-347-6500) all three weekends for Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. If you do not require Sunday night, please change your reservations upon your arrival the first weekend. WHEN YOU CHECK INTO THE MOTEL, TELL THE FRONT DESK THAT YOU ARE AN “SIUC INSTRUCTOR” THEN THEY WILL KNOW EXACTLY WHERE TO LOCATE YOUR RESERVATIONS ON THE COMPUTER.

If you wish to stay at a different motel, you will need to take care of those reservations immediately and notify me to cancel those at Hampton Inn.

It will be necessary for you to rent a car, all three weekends, while you are teaching at Camp Lejeune, so please make arrangements through your travel agency/campus.

If a student is absent during a class, or misses taking a test, I'll be happy to work with him/her/you. Please leave instructions at the motel with the test, (etc. in order to avoid Inc. grades) in the envelope with my name on it, when you leave to return home, as well as the building keys and the attendance rosters for the weekend. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU SIGN ALL ATTENDANCE ROSTERS EACH WEEKEND and leave them, and the building keys, at the front desk of the motel. Please do not leave keys or rosters with any student. They must be left each weekend at the front desk of Hampton Inn, even if you stay elsewhere unless you have made other arrangements.

Final grades are to be on campus and our office by the designated deadline (refer to the instructor’s letter on grade deadlines).

I WILL PLAN TO BE IN CLASS THE FIRST AND LAST SATURDAY MORNINGS OF YOUR CLASS. I WILL NEED ABOUT 20 MINUTES TO MAKE ANNOUNCEMENTS.

I look forward to seeing you and working with you this semester. Thank you!
