Fire Service Management The College of Applied Sciences and Arts at Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIUC) is seeking qualified applicants for positions of Assistant Instructor/Visiting Assistant/Associate/Full Professor within the College's Office of Off-Campus Academic Programs (OCAP). Anticipated positions will begin July 2006. These are term appointments to teach undergraduate course(s) on an every weekend format over a five-week period at an off-campus location. Labor-Management Relations Qualifications: Assistant Instructor: Earned Bachelor’s degree and 10 years experience in a fire service related discipline required. Postsecondary teaching experience and/or related industry experience required. Ability to travel to specified location for teaching and to teach specified course(s) required. Visiting Assistant/Associate/Full Professor: Master’s degree in a major appropriate to the course(s) being taught required; doctorate in appropriate area preferred. Postsecondary teaching experience and/or related industry experience required. Ability to travel to specified location for teaching and to teach specified course(s) required. Responsibilities: To teach undergraduate course(s) as indicated above. To provide appropriate personnel at the office campus site with course syllabus, first reading assignment, and any required course handouts at least three weeks in advance of assignment. To provide grades within specified deadlines. To maintain contact with Off-Campus Academic Programs for student inquiries and grading requirements for up to 12 months from last scheduled class meeting date.
