Aviation Management Welcome to Palomar College in San Marcos CA. This will provide some general information regarding your teaching assignment in the San Diego area. You will receive a detailed letter, specific to your course and class dates. Transportation San Diego International Airport, Lindbergh Field (SAN) is the usual arrival point. You will need to rent a car at the airport; there are many choices on site with free shuttle service to the lots. Reserve your car early, San Diego is a popular tourist destination. Another option would be to fly to McClellan-Palomar Airport via commuter plane from LAX. United Express has many daily flights, Monday through Friday. Getting Here There are two routes to take to get to Palomar College from the airport. On a Friday afternoon traffic will be very heavy on each of the routes. One option is to take I-5N to 78 E. From 78E. exit Las Posas Road and head north. Turn right onto West Mission Road, Palomar College is on the left. You may also take 163N to 15N to 78W, exit Las Posas Road, turn right, go to West Mission and turn right; Palomar College will be on the left. Office Information The SIUC office is located in NS-123 at Palomar College 1140 West Mission Road, San Marcos, CA 92069 Classroom Information Aviation Management: Room NS-117. The classroom is in a new building which just opened on August 20, 2007. The classroom is spacious and brand new. It is important that we maintain the condition of the classroom, no eating or drinking in the classroom is allowed. All trash must be removed from the classroom at the end of each weekend. You may obtain a map of the Palomar College campus at http://www.palomar.edu, click on Quick Links and choose Campus Maps. Class Materials All syllabi and materials for the class must be provided by the instructor. All duplication must be done prior to beginning of the class. The local SIU office does not have the capability to provide duplication services. All materials may be duplicated on campus and sent to the SIUC office at Palomar College. Please provide your materials to Pat Phillips six weeks prior to the class start date. Syllabi should be available to the students three weeks prior to the start date of class. Instructors are encouraged to make their syllabi available to the students via the off-campus web site or by email attachment. Grades Grades needed to be submitted to Jan McAdams or Gaila Neathery and to the local SIU office by the published date. A grade sheet will be provided and must be signed by the instructor.
