Financial Information and Credit Card Payment: Tuition Charges and Fees
Effective Spring 2008 For Military Programs: $210 per semester hour Tuition charges do not include the cost of books.
Tuition Payment Policy and Procedures Payment of tuition and fees is the responsibility of the student. SIUC will assist the student whenever to process the paper work for various financial programs; however, the payment responsibility rests with the student. Students must pay for each class by the second weekend of the course; failure to do so means that the student cannot continue to attend the class. The only exception to this rule is Tuition Assistance (TA) payment, but the student must have his or her TA Authorization prior to the first day of class per Marine Admin order. All payments must be made payable to Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIUC) in the form of check, money order, or credit card. Cash payments will not be accepted. When paying by credit card, please do so through Salukinet so as not to incur an extra charge. A student who does not make payment as prescribed will be subject to disenrollment. A student may not enroll for the next semester until all receivables for the previous semesters have been paid in full. A student will not receive a diploma or a transcript until all receivables have been paid. Students not registered for the next semester who have delinquent account balances will receive a series of itemized statements requesting payment. If payments or arrangements are not made on a timely basis, a one-time delinquent fee of $25.00 per delinquent account of $250.00 or more may be assessed, plus the account may be placed with a collection agency with a collection fee added to the account. Official Student Financial Obligations and Tuition Payment Policy Statement Students who are enrolled in SIUC's off-campus programs at military installations incur an academic and fiscal liability at the time they sign the registration form ("Course Request Form"). This form, when signed by the student and approved by the SIUC base Advisor, obligates the student to pay SIUC the amount of tuition in accordance with that semester's tuition policy set forth by the University. It also obligates the student to each of the course(s) listed on the Course Request Form, UNLESS the student requests the SIUC base Advisor to drop the course(s), and only if such request is made prior to the add/drop date as shown on the Semester Schedule. Attendance and satisfactory progress are required by SIUC, the VA, and the State Approving Agency, and by the military in the case of students using Tuition Assistance. Each student is responsible for obtaining dates of class meetings and deadlines for registration. It is the student's responsibility to contact the base Advisor and the instructor when class time is missed, regardless of the circumstances. There are several forms of financial assistance available as applicable to the student's status. Regardless of the third party agency offering financial assistance to the student, the basic rule is that the student is personally responsible for his/her own financial obligation to SIUC and is personally responsible for obtaining financial assistance and providing documentation when required. |
