Prospective Students

So You Want to be a Saluki?

Admission to the ATEP is a two stage process. The first stage, the Pre-ATEP, is not competitive and may be initiated by completing and submitting the SIUC ATEP Pre-ATEP application packet, which includes the SIUC Pre-ATEP Notification of Intent form and a signed SIUC ATEP Technical Standards document. Pre-ATEP applications may be submitted throughout the year, but students are strongly encouraged to submit applications prior to the start of the Fall semester to ensure an optimal Pre-ATEP experience. Following satisfactory completion of the Pre-ATEP requirements, students are then eligible for the second stage of admission, the SIUC ATEP Professional Phase. Professional Phase admission is competitive and occurs once per year during the spring semester. Applications are typically due on or around April 1. All incoming freshman students must complete the Pre-Athletic Training Education Program prior to submitting an application for the Professional Phase of the ATEP. Transfer students will be evaluated on an individual basis to determine eligibility for immediate application to the Professional Phase of the ATEP. Contact the ATEP Director for more information.

SIUC Tuition & Fees

Tuition and fees charged to students are established by the Board of Trustees and are subject to change whenever conditions necessitate.  All tuition assessments are on a per-hour basis, as are most fee assessments.  For the most current fee schedule, consult http://www.registrar.siu.edu/tuition.

SIUC ATEP Fees

Initiating and continuing enrollment in the ATEP requires the student to pay for a number of program-specific fees, including student professional liability insurance, clinical attire, professional dues and memberships, and other associated expenses which typically total $800 or more over the duration of the program.  Students are advised to budget accordingly.
