Practice - The club meetings are a great place to practice for
a ballroom dance class or work toward a higher skill
level.
2.
Dances - The Moonlight Dance Society allows students, who are
members of the club, to come to the dances for free. The dances
feature live bands and occasionally lessons before the
dances.
3.
No Skill Level Requirment - The club has excellent instructors
who have unlimited patience, even with people who think
they have two left feet.
4.
Excursions - The club offers members chances to attend
demonstations, competitions, and seminars to try new things and
really explore ballroom dance.
5.
Guest Instructors - The club works to bring in instructors
from outside the school for seminars on diferent techniques. Last
year we had Henry Neeman (of Heny's Hotlist) come in and work on
West Coast Swing and the Hustle, two dances that we are not
normally exposed to.
6.
For the Fellas - The ladies want a man that can dance (trust
me).
7.
For the Ladies - This is the place to find fellas
that can dance.
8.
No Partner Needed - Don't fret! We rotate partners during club
meetings, so everyone dances.
9.
Resources - The club rents out dance videos to its members,
but more importantly provides friendly people with
knowledge and experience.
10.
Clothing - The club sells stylish t-shirts with the SIU BDC
logo on front. We have black or gray in all sizes for a mere
twelve dollars a shirt.
