Short Stories
Most recent stories (these may be compiled soon):
The old home place (2007)
Free parking (2007)
Extended family (2006)
Through train (2006)
A night on the town (2006)
Unloading, and nine other stories (April
2005)
I am working toward a self-published
collection of short stories; a number of these started out as reading
exercises for esl students, and were included to make ten total in this
collection; these could best be termed "backfiles" and may end up at the
back of the files. Or, on the web, as the lit up ones already are. Some
of these are good, though. I ask my friends to read & give comments. Write if you're interested.
included are the following: Unloading (2005)
Choke and Cell (2005) Abstract and Concrete
(2004) Three
Friends (2000) Passion and Circumstance (2000)
Schoolhouse Reflection Ruffi (2000) Faith
of the Crocodile Superstition
(2000)
Plays:
most recent:
Good Tidings of Yule
Monsters of Kanifloria (2006)
(in progress) Down in Our Hearts
Thou Heardest My Voice, and six other plays
(April 2005)
These were done for the benefit of the young
friends of Southern Illinois Friends Meeting, at the Interfaith Center
in Carbondale, where each was performed. Some have been performed
elsewhere. I've compiled the original scripts, including the names, but
would like to clean them up and present them to Friends nationwide.
Included are the following: Thou Heardest My Voice (2005), a
play about Iraq Quakers Rock the 17th Century
(2004), a play about the early days of Quakerism Turning Point (2003), a
play about the 1970 bombing of Sterling Hall, Univ. of
Wisconsin-Madison (This play was also performed in
DuBois, IL in 2004) The Life and Times of Lucretia
Coffin Mott (2000) (This play was also performed in
St. Louis, MO in 2001) The Life and Times of John
Woolman (1999) The Story of Benjamin West, Quaker Artist
(1998) White Feather (1997)
Music
Fiddler, banjo picker
Now playing with the Parsley & Sagebrush Band; cd expected soon.
Played with bands ranging from the Merry
Quakers to the Dogs of Love.

Poetry
a href, my
poetry site
Writer of link poetry, link haiku, and total link
haiku (seventeen syllables, seventeen links. I once claimed to have
invented them, since no one that I knew of was doing them actively or at
all, before I started, in 2004. Since then a friend, Dave More, has said that he preceded me.
Who else? I'd love to know. Come visit!
link poetry
contest, not started yet Still
waiting for proper inspiration; a link haiku and link poetry site also
wait. I figure it will catch on like wildfire when the time comes; I
just want to have some credential, some poetry behind me, when that
happens. -TL
Graphics & Web Design
Graphics page For all intents and
purposes, I have stopped creating postcards, and this page is in bad shape (in the process of moving), but I am still gradually
uploading old work and using it on the web. The graphics page is the
home of most is what is on the web, but there are plenty more...and more
in my head, still waiting to be printed!
Web design I'm an amateur at web
design, entirely self-taught, but I've made hundreds of pages, most here
at CESL, and consider most of them effective, if not beautiful. Why do
I put the state of Illinois by my signature? Because, if I get my web
management business off the ground, I'll call it
land-a-linkin', and maybe put it here
Visit
my immediate family:
Visit
the family from whence I came:
My father Jim ("he wrote the book!")
and my mother, in New Mexico:
My oldest brother Bruce has links to chess
pages and the activities of his family.
My sister Margot has links to
klezmer music.
My younger brother Bill who
with his wife Lisa and baby Bea, has just left Hong Kong for
England.
Keep up with family events
