Advisement/Registration Calendar

Listserv Information

computer.gifThe College of Agricultural Sciences has developed an announcement listserv. The purpose of this listserv is to inform faculty, undergraduate and graduate students, and staff of scholarship opportunities, deadlines, seminars, activities, internship opportunities, class cancellations, club events, etc.

If you would like to join, send an email message to listserv@siu.edu; the text should contain the following command:

SUB AGRICULTURE-L firstname lastname

Scholarships

money.gifThe College of Agricultural Sciences encourages all students to investigate other financial aid opportunities which may be available to them. Information concerning assistance including grants, loans, and student work positions is available from the SIUC Financial Aid Office, third floor, Woody Hall B Wing.

All College scholarships are listed on the Financial Aid homepage. Any questions regarding scholarships may be directed to 618/453-2469.

Heritage Scholarship Application:

The Heritage Scholarship Program application is used to apply for almost $85,000 in annual scholarship awards available through the College of Agricultural Sciences's Heritage Scholarship Program for the 2007-2008 academic year. For more information regarding the Heritage Scholarship Application, contact the Dean's Office at 453-2469.

Locating general financial aid information:

SIUC's
Financial Aid

The Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIUC) Financial Aid Office web site offers both general and SIUC-specific financial aid information. There are also links to all of the web sites listed here, as well as other financial aid and SIUC sites. SIUC on-campus jobs and scholarships listings are posted.

Students.gov

The federal government provides a general, user-friendly site that provides access to the IRS, Selective Service, Social Security and other federal sites of interest to students.

US Department
of Education

The U.S. Department of Education's web site offers general financial aid information about federal student aid programs such as the Federal Pell Grant, Federal SEOG, Federal Work-Study and student loans.

State of Illinois

State of Illinois programs that provide grants, scholarships and loans to qualifying Illinois residents are highlighted at the web site of the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC).

Applying for financial aid:

Federal
Student Aid

Students and parents can use this web site to electronically complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Renewal FAFSA, as well as to make corrections to previously submitted FAFSA data.

Searching for scholarships:

FinAid

FinAid provides a comprehensive overview of grants and scholarships available, and scholarship search capabilities. Two other valuable features are information on scholarship scams, and a set of calculators/estimators that can assist in planning for a college education.

Fastweb

FastWeb provides a free national scholarship search service that allows a student to provide profile information and receive a listing of grants and scholarships that can be pursued.

IL Department
of Security

The Illinois Department of Security homepage for high school students, college students and adults. Features a comprehensive guide to Illinois careers, training programs and schools. Check out the CIS Aid Sort to locate scholarships! They also offer a text only Internet CIS. CIS requires a user ID and password.

IL Student Assistance
Commission

The Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) offers a scholarship search service called Higher-Ednet, which is a free service when completed on-line.

International Education
Financial Aid

International students can search for various types of financial aid from the web site of International Education Financial Aid.

Locating personal information:

SIUC's Salukinet

Prospective and admitted students can use SalukiNet to find SIUC forms and information and to access their personal student and SIUC account information.

National Student Loan Data System

With a federal Personal Identification Number (PIN), students can review their individual financial aid history.

IL Student Assistance Commission or
Finaid

Both of these sites will allow you to calculate a potential Estimated Family Contribution (EFC). The EFS is the amount the family is expected to contribute towards the cost of a student's education and is used to determine eligibility for federal and state financial aid.

Transfer Equivalencies
