LIBERAL ARTS ALUMNUS DAVID TANNER

photo: David Tanner and Diane Taub Mr. David M. Tanner holds four degrees from Southern Illinois University Carbondale: a Bachelor of Arts in English, a Bachelor of Arts in History, a Bachelor of Science in Paralegal Studies, and a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in Museum Administration. While attending SIU, Mr. Tanner worked in the Student Center, the Transcript Department of Admissions and Records, and at the University Museum as Assistant Curator of Collections and Development Assistant. He did an internship at the University of Texas Institute of Texan Cultures in San Antonio, Texas, and has served as the Executive Director of the Peoria Historical Society in Peoria, Illinois and as the Executive Director of the Washington Center Historical Society in West Wisconsin. Currently, Mr. Tanner is Executive Director of the Association of Midwest Museums in St. Louis. He is a member of the American Association of Museums, the American Association for State and Local History, and the Midwest Museum Association.
