An Interdisciplinary Doctoral Program

The interdisciplinary ER&P program is jointly directed by the Departments of Geology, Geography, Agribusiness Economics, Forestry, and Plant, Soil and General Agriculture.   Other units on campus, such as the College of Engineering and School of Law, also participate.  Faculty from these and other units campus-wide contribute their expertise to the program.
	Southern Illinois University Carbondale is a large, state-supported "Research II" institution, situated in a pleasant, small-town environment.  It lies at the edge of the 270,000 acre  Shawnee National Forest amid lakes, cliffs, rivers, and picturesque countryside.
