    • Iuka, IL That's about 25 miles Northeast of Mt. Vernon, IL
      Research Interests:
I'm very much interested in plant physiology and herbicide physiology.
Current Work: My current work involves the evaluation of corn and tobacco lines expressing a foreign gene and determining their equivalence to non-GMOs. These plants have displayed complex metabolic changes compared to non-transformed plants and other GMOs. To fully exploit the beneficial attributes of this technology the specific effects of the foreign gene on plant metabolic functions needs to be better understood. Experiments evaluating whole plant tolerance to phosphinothricin allow us to use the phenotypic response to gain better insight to the function of the gene.

      Research Interests: Water Demand Management
Current Work: I am currently taking part in the research on water use patterns in the united states from 1950 to 1995. The basic aim of the project is to develop multiple regression models on model water use in residential, industrial, agricultural, and thermoelectric sectors.

  • Yong Huang yongh@siu.edu

    • P. R. China
      Research Interests:
Water Resources Hydrology, Water Resources management, Environmental Management
Current Work: Hydropower generation has benefited humans, but there are also negative impacts to the river system. A comparative study will be done to find a better way to minimize the negative impacts by management measures.
