ATTACHMENT E

Resolution to Approve the Addition of a Pre-Law Specialization
to the B.S. in Paralegal Studies

WHEREAS the B.S. in Paralegal Studies prepares students for immediate employment in the U.S. legal system; and

WHEREAS a Pre-Law specialization to the B.S. in Paralegal Studies would broaden the background of Paralegal Studies majors to include additional courses in writing, analytical skills, and internships in preparation for admission to law school; and

WHEREAS such a specialization has no budgetary implications for the program or for the College of Liberal Arts whose departments will provide the nine additional hours required in the new specialization; and

WHEREAS the faculty of the Paralegal Studies program and the College of Liberal Arts Council voted unanimously to approve the new specialization;

BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED that Faculty Senate approve the Pre-Law specialization to the B.S. in Paralegal Studies.
