FACULTY SENATE GOVERNANCE COMMITTEE ATTACHMENT C Resolution on Faculty Announce Listserv WHEREAS the Faculty Senate created the faculty announce listserv as a means to keep faculty apprised of issues that are of interest or importance to all faculty, and WHEREAS the Faculty Senate uses the listserv to announce postings of the Faculty Senate agenda and minutes, solicit committee representatives, and announce special meetings (the latter two as needed), and WHEREAS as a result of outside requests to post to the faculty announce listserv, the Faculty Senate Governance Committee was charged with drafting a policy on its use, BE IT RESOLVED that the FACULTY-ANNOUNCE-L@SIU.EDU listserv is only for the business of the Faculty Senate that is of clear importance to a broad cross section of the faculty. The Faculty Senate President shall have the power to determine when its use is appropriate. The Faculty Senate President shall consult with the Executive Council if an ambiguous case arises.
