FACULTY SENATE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL ATTACHMENT C Resolution to Request the Attendance of the SIUC Chancellor to Regular Meetings of the Faculty Senate WHEREAS the SIUC Chancellor is a member of the Faculty Senate, as stated in the Senate's Operating Paper (II.A.1.a: "The Faculty Senate shall consist of elected members and ex-officio members"; and II.A.1.c: "The ex-officio members shall be the Chancellor of SIUC and the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Provost"), officially published in the Employees Handbook (http://www.siu.edu/~docedit/policies/opffs.html); and WHEREAS the announced absence of the Chancellor from regular meetings of the Senate sets a precedent that may be followed by all future Chancellors and thus undermines the principle and practice of shared governance at SIUC; BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED that the Faculty Senate formally request the Chancellor to return to regular attendance to meetings of this body.
