Jeffrey C. McLellan - Senior Associate General
Counsel
Jeffrey C. McLellan assumed the position of Senior
Associate General Counsel at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville
in November 2005, after serving as University Attorney at Georgia
Southern University for more than nine years. Prior to these higher
education law practices, he was a plaintiff civil rights litigation
practitioner with law firms in Georgia. Dr. McLellan received a
B.S. degree from the University of Illinois, M.Ed. degree and Ph.D.
degrees from the University of Toledo, and a J.D. degree from the
University of Georgia School of Law. He was employed as an elementary
school teacher prior to his graduate degrees and joined the faculty
of the University of Georgia upon completion of his Ph.D. He has
also owned and managed a construction company.
Dr. McLellan is licensed to practice law in Illinois
and Georgia and has been admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme
Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. He
is a member of the National Association of College and University
Attorneys and the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
