Program and Schedule Options

 
  • Center-Based Program: Children enrolled in center-based programs will attend Head Start classes in one of our six center sites, depending on the location of their home address and qualifications for co-locations. Generally bus transportation is provided for these children. Half-day, full-day and limited full-day/full-year programs are available.
  • Half-Day Program: Offered during the morning and afternoon. Half-day programs are offered at the Murphysboro, Marion, and Carbondale Center sites.
    • Morning sessions
      8:00 am - 11:30 am
    • Afternoon sessions 
      12:30 pm - 4:00 pm
  • Full-Day, School Year Programs: Johnston City operates for at least six (6) hours for families meeting Head Start full-day eligibility requirements.
  • The Marion Center only operates one full day, school year classroom, from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, with childcare subsidy criteria required. Additional criteria for enrollment into our full-day classrooms are required.
  • Full-Day, Year-Round Programs:
    Eurma C. Hayes Head Start Co-Location Center  - 7:30 am - 5:30 pm
    Logan Pre-school Head Start Co-Location Center - 7:30 am - 5:00 pm
    Malone's Head Start Co-Location Center - 7:00 am - 5:30 pm

    Families must qualify for childcare subsidy and make a parent co-pay for childcare services. Classes meet five (5) days per week, Monday through Friday.
