As part of Southern @ 150: Building Excellence Through Commitment, Agility and Efficiency Task Forces were convenend to focus on reviewing university policies, procedures and practices in an effort to identify opportunities for improvement. A common theme echoed from these reports: a need for training.
The Center for Workforce Learning and Development (CWLD) was created to develop and implement a strategic response to the need for training across campus. By identifying key organizational learning needs, integrating with other university strategies and supporting the achievement of university goals, we will help improve the knowledge and skills of our employee population. Through needs analysis, program design and multi-media workshop presentations we invest in the success of our most critical university resource - our employees.
The Center for Workforce Learning and Development is administered through the Labor and Employee Relations department. To discuss any of the information contained herein, please call 453-1393 on the Carbondale campus or visit us in room 211, Anthony Hall.
All employees are eligible to enroll in CWLD offerings. Review our current list of seminar and workshop offerings. Employees and their supervisor should select courses most appropriate to the employee's developmental needs and the needs of the department.
Announcements for new or updated program listings will be published in the Southern Spotlight, via the faculty, civil service and A/P listservs and on the Labor and Employee Relations website under the Workforce Learning and Development tab.
