Southern Illinois University is the home of over 300 different Registered Student Organizations (RSO's). In Fall of 2004 a new RSO, Students Promoting Educational Advancement and Research (SPEAR) was established for students with goals of pursing a masters or doctoral degree. As an organization, we believe in building a strong support system to guide students through the transitional period between undergraduate and graduate studies. SPEAR will stimulate interest in undergraduate research and graduate studies and provide personal and professional development activities. We will provide a forum for educational opportunities and promote higher education in all majors and disciplines. We encourage all students to join.
