Student workers are encouraged to apply in person in the Main Music office, the Band/Orchestra office, and with the School of Music Recording Engineer.

Grad

Graduate Assistantships are available through application to the University and the School of Music.

Faculty

Term Lecturer, Applied Saxophone, 9 month, Non-tenure track, Southern Illinois University Carbondale.  Starting Date: August 16, 2008.  Application deadline: July 18, 2008, or until filled.  Qualifications:  Masters degree in music and relevant college/university teaching experience. Doctorate preferred.  Experience playing both classical and jazz styles preferred.  Duties: Teach and recruit saxophone students; assist with jazz band; teach music appreciation and/or music theory.  Send letter of application (no email applications), current resume, and three letters of reference (no recordings at this time) to:

Staff

Musical Instrument Technician II.

 

1. Responsible for providing tuning and service to maintain performance pianos at a professional standard as required for recitals, concerts, auditions, and recordings.
2. Provide tuning in all faculty studios and practice rooms.
3. Oversee piano maintenance, repairs, and improvements.
4. Maintain piano inventory history.
5. Supervise rebuilding of piano actions and keyboards.
6. Teach course in piano technology.

 

Experience with organ and other keyboard technology an asset.
