Greetings from the Director
On behalf of the students, faculty, and staff of southern Illinois University Carbondale in Niigata, I welcome you to our website and invite you to take a virtual tour of our Campus. SIUC-N is celebrating its fifteenth anniversary this year, and we are proud of our tradition of providing high quality American university education in Japan over the past fifteen years.
SIUC-N is pleased to provide this unique program to prepare students who want to obtain an American university education. Students enroll in our Intensive English Program to gain the language skills necessary for university study, move on to our innovative Core Curriculum program where they earn actual university credit and finally transfer to our home campus in Carbondale or to another American university, to complete their degrees. They are guided through the entire process by dedicated, caring teachers and counselors. Every student receives individual attention and our program allows students to adjust gradually to the American university system so they experience less culture shock and have more confidence in their achieving academic success.
