    Job Description:
    Paralegal knowledge and experience used to legally comply with the production of prescription/medical records and/or employee records.
    Responsibilities:
    *Screen legal forms requesting pharmacy records for proper authorization and documentation in light of HIPAA requirements.
    *Handle telephone calls from lawyers as it relates to the HIPAA requirements.
    *Negotiate to keep pharmacists from court appearances for records' production.
    *Coordinate the correction of controlled substance reporting.
    *Handle escalated customer service calls from Third Parties.
    *Audit and notarize records before release.
    *Give telephone depositions when necessary.
    *Oversee the HIPAA disclosure database.
    *Act as coordinator/liaison between the Custodian of Records area and the Legal department and Privacy Office areas.
    Qualifications:

    Certification as a paralegal
    Minimum of 2 years of litigation experience
    Working knowledge of Word and Access
    Strong communication skills both verbal and written
