| WHO WE ARE
The Evaluation and Developmental Center (EDC) is a direct client service component of the Rehabilitation Institute of Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIUC). The EDC Rehabilitation Services Programs are jointly funded by SIUC and the Department of Human Services/Office of Rehabilitation Services.
EDC’s objective is to provide rehabilitation services which assist people with disabilities in attaining greater productivity and self-sufficiency. EDC also provides a training environment for SIUC and a site for rehabilitation related research.
WHOM WE SERVE
Eligibility for services is determined jointly by the DHS/ORS and EDC staff. Individuals may refer themselves or be referred by any interested party.
Generally, any individual sixteen years of age or older who is vocationally handicapped, and who can care for, or arrange for the care of his/her own personal needs is eligible. Individuals with physical, mental, or developmental disabilities as well as sensory impairments are also eligible for services.
