ADVISEMENT/REGISTRATION
PROCEDURE
Students must see an academic
advisor for academic advisement/registration. Advisement and
registration is done by the academic advisor and faculty advisors
in the department. Your advisor will discuss major requirements,
core curriculum requirements, and graduation requirements with
you. Registration is processed in Student Information System
(SIS) by the advisor. Students will receive a copy of class schedule
from the advisor. Make appointments with your academic advisor
early to register for classes for the following semester.
TO ADD OR DROP A CLASS
If you wish to make any changes
to your schedule, (example, adding a class or changing a section),
you will need to contact your academic advisor. Drops must be
officially processed by deadline dates. Students may not drop
a course merely by stopping attendance; this may result in receiving
a failing grade for the course. Check Schedule of Classes for
deadline dates.
WITHDRAWAL FROM THE UNIVERSITY
After registration, if you are
unable to attend classes, you must officially withdraw from the
University through the Office of Transitional Programs, located
in Woody Hall, B145 (618-536-2338).
FULL-TIME ENROLLMENT
To be a full-time student, you
must be enrolled for at least 12 hours. Athletes, international
students, and those students who are on financial aid must be
registered for at least 12 hours for the entire semester.
CREDIT OVERLOAD
The maximum credit hours that
you may register for in a semester is 18 hours. Dean's permission
is required for 19 hours or more. Students on probation may not
take more than 14 hours.
